Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Technology   [B.Sc. (M.L.T)]

Medical Laboratory Technology is an Allied Health specialty concerned with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases through the use of clinical laboratory tests. Though the Medical Lab technologists spend less time with patients than doctors and nurses, medical laboratory professionals are just as dedicated to patient's health. As vital members of the health care team, medical laboratory professionals play a critical role in collecting the information needed to give the best care to an ill or injured patient. The fact is that the practice of modern medicine would be impossible without the tests performed in the laboratory.

Medical laboratory professionals have unlimited choices of practice settings. Hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, public health facilities, and commercial laboratories all have positions open right now for qualified laboratory professionals. In these settings, communication and research skills are highly valued. Employment of clinical laboratory workers is expected to grow as the volume of laboratory tests increases with population growth and the development of new types of tests.

Bachelor of Science in Operation Theatre Technology   [ BSc .O.T.Technology]

The Operation Theater and Anesthesia Technologist are responsible for direct and indirect patient care, equipment set up and operation procedures. They are trained to assist the surgeons during the procedures and assume responsibility for completion of other functions as assigned.Operation Theatre Technology courses are job oriented. In India, different variants of this course are available. Some such well known variants includes- Operation Theatre Technology, Operation Theatre Management, Operation Theatre Techniques and Operation Theatre & Anaesthesia Technology.

Bachelor of Science in Cardiac Care Technology [ B.Sc Cardiac CareTechnology ]

The Cardiac Care Technologist is responsible for direct and indirect patient care, haemo- dynamic monitoring, equipment set up and operation. They assist the Physician during cardiac procedures and assume responsibility for completion of other cardiac lab functions as assigned. Cardiac care technicians supports physicians during cardiovascular testing, usually invasive procedures where a tube will be inserted into one of the blood vessel that carries blood into heart. Cardio care technicians also prepare patients for open heart surgeries and cardiac pacemaker insertions. A patient’s life may depend on the efficiency of cardiac care technicians.

Bachelor of Science in PerfusionTechnology  [ BSc. PerfusionTechnology ]

BSc Perfusion Technology is an Under Graduate Course and  Perfusion technologist is a person who is trained to operate a Heart-Lung Machine which is a major development in the Health field. This was devised to maintain the human body in living condition, even when the heart and lungs are not functioning. The removal of carbon dioxide from and addition of oxygen to the blood takes place through it. This enables the surgeon to make necessary cardiac repairs. A perfusionist is a skilled allied health professional, trained and educated specifically as a member of an open-heart surgical team, responsible for the selection, setup and operation of a Heart-Lung Machine and other life support system like IABP, LVAD, RVAD & ECMO. Students are posted in ICUs and trained in different aspects of patient monitoring and post-operative care during the tenure of course.

Perfusion Technology is the most Job Guaranteed course for aspirants who wish to be in a job after three years of study. Only very few seats are available in each institutions that offer this course, hence the demand of graduates in Perfusion Technology is so high that this course directs to a decent salaried job.

Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Care Technology  [ BSc. Respiratory Care Technology]

Respiratory Therapy is a relatively new branch of Allied Health Sciences and a profession devoted to the scientific application of technology in order to assist in the diagnosis, treatment, management and care of patients with cardiopulmonary and associated disorders. Respiratory Therapists are important members of modern healthcare teams.

Respiratory Therapy did not exist as a separate stream even a few decades ago. Due to increasing pollution level a lot of people suffer from various respiratory disorders. The increasing pollution level in the atmosphere and other genetic disorders lead to severe lung problems. Asthma and Bronchitis are the commonly known respiratory diseases.

Bachelor of Science in  Anaesthesia Technology [ BSc. Anaesthesia Technology]
